What is the eligibility criteria?
BSc in Transportation Technology is open to only science stream students
BBA in Transportation Management is open students from all streams
Mathematics and/or Statistics is a mandatory subject in class XII to be eligible for admission. Applicants must have successfully completed their 10+2 Board examination with at least 55% marks (50% for OBC/SC/ST) and be below the age of 25 years as on August 1, 2018.
How does one apply to NRTI (Aptitude Test/Admission)?
1) Students who meet the eligibility criteria may take the NRTI Aptitude Test. Eligible candidates shall apply online, to select a test centre location and pay the application fee, between July 1 and 6, 2018.
2) Post July 6, students will receive an admit card along with details on the confirmed test centre location and time. The test will be administered on July 15, 2018 at specified test centres located across the country.
3) The final list of candidates will be selected based on NRTI Aptitude Test result ranking. The management of NRTI may call in candidates for a round of counselling following the announcement of the merit list.

What is so unique about NRTI?
NRTI is specifically established to create a resource pool of best-in-class professionals for the railway and transportation sector. The curriculum is designed to introduce young minds to develop new ideas, innovative concepts, refined skills and in-depth knowledge to question, evaluate, invent and redefine surface transport ecosystems in India and the world. Unlike any other programme being offered in India, BBA in Transportation Management is entirely focused on the national and international transportation industry. What is BSc in Transportation Technology programme?
The BSc programme is a three year full-time undergraduate programme designed to orient young minds to finding technology solutions through the application of new ideas, knowledge, and skills and play a crucial role in India’s rapid march to intelligent transport systems of the future. It is a unique program offered in collaboration with the transport industry, especially Indian Railways, providing an experiential learning environment to students. Meant to prepare a cadre of transportation technologists and specialists. The BSc programme focuses on technology and its application in the field of transportation. How is BSc in Transportation Technology different from any other BSc degree being offered in India?
Unlike any other undergraduate science programme being offered in India, BSc in Transportation Technology is entirely focused on the technology interface in transportation industry. Further the programme follows a highly experiential and unique inter-disciplinary pedagogy incorporating the latest technologies, i.e., live classrooms and online programmes delivered by high-quality faculty with global exposure.
What degree is offered at the end of the programme?
A Bachelors of Business Administration degree in Transportation Management or Bachelors of Science degree in Transportation Technology.
What is the structure of BBA / BSc programme?
NRTI intends to follow an innovative undergraduate curriculum structure. The experiential pedagogy involves workshops/laboratory/studio work being embedded within taught courses, thereby enabling the students to understand concepts and develop an application-oriented approach from early on. Students have the flexibility to build an academic plan that has the requisite composition of core, foundation and elective subjects from all learning tracks: I (Domain knowledge), II (Multidisciplinary learning) and III (Self-discovery and professional development).
To earn a Bachelor's degree, each student completes the requisite minimum of 140 credits over the programme period of 3 years of 3 trimesters each. Students would typically study 4 courses in a trimester, across 9 terms, and spend 1 trimester in their final year, experiencing a live industry project, or preparing a thesis. They are also required to undertake at least one summer internship in the first two years that offers them exposure to the railways and allied transportation industries.
Is NRTI offering AICTE recognized degrees?
Can we do this course in distance mode?
No. Both the programmes are residential and full time.
Is NRTI globally ranked?
NRTI is India's first university solely focused on Transportation. It is launching its first programmes in August 2018, hence not globally ranked yet.

The admission in both the programmes at NRTI is based on merit. However there are applicable reservation of seats as per UGC / AICTE / State Government regulations.

The fees at NRTI are payable in full on admission.
What is the ranking of NRTI in India?
NRTI is launching its first programmes in 2018. Hence it is currently not ranked in India or abroad. However, NRTI is offering unique programmes in Transportation Management and technology unlike any other in the country.
Is an internship part of the programme?
Yes. All the students are required to complete an industry internship spanning an entire trimester.
Are there placements available for students?
Yes. The university will have a dedicated placement cell assisting all the students in getting suitable employment on successful completion of the programmes.
Will Indian Railways provide placements to NRTI graduates?
No. Indian Railways is supporting NRTI with practical labs and training centers. It plays no role in the overall functioning of the university and placement of its graduates.
Who are the industrial partners of NRTI?

What are the job prospects after completing the BBA and BSc degree programmes from NRTI?
India will need a workforce of around 2.51 Crores by 2022. The transport sector is expected to witness one of the highest incremental human resource requirements in the next 5 years. There will be huge demand for management professionals and technology experts to mitigate this skill gap. So, NRTI graduates will be in much demand.
