NRTI’s planned endeavour for excellence will well-reflect in its programmes under the School of Management & Leadership. The various programmes will encourage each and every student to leverage their potential capabilities by challenging them to achieve beyond their best. By the end of the programme, participants will get well poised to add value to their respective employing organizations since our programs are practice-oriented with a thrust on managerial decision making. The transformational learning in our programs is a once in a lifetime experience that is going to stay with graduates life-long and give them the perspective to deal with complex and ever-changing realities of the transportation industry, business, and life.
Engineering involves the creative application of tools from math and science to solve problems that confront humanity today. While these problems present technological challenges, each exists within a cultural, economic, historical, and ethical context; thus, an in-depth education in engineering must provide students with a broad academic foundation. At NRTI, we ensure that the engineering students learn the fundamental principles of engineering sciences and apply that knowledge to engineering design and practice through advanced courses and independent work. Ample opportunities for study in the natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities complete a well-rounded experiential education that prepares students for a wide range of careers in transportation and allied industries.
NRTI plans to impart education focusing on understanding, designing, planning, constructing and managing human habitats that have a profound impact on transportation in India and vice versa. The School of Planning and Design focused on planning in the public realm, will concentrate on engineering and construction, dealing with habitat related interiors, crafts, systems, and products. ‘Cities’ are the future of India and other developing countries. Urban transport transformations, with emphasis on usability, equity, and sustainability, will be the key driver of India’s future in the coming half century, much like the East Asian and Latin American countries in the last 30 years. Urban planners anchor such urban transformations. The School of Planning and Design at NRTI aims to prepare such intense, skilled and thinking professionals to meet this challenge.
The School of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences at NRTI is uniquely placed to make a significant contribution to the world of research and education, both because of the nature of the Department and by virtue of its location in India’s first premier university on transportation. The top-class faculty members in the founding year reflect our commitment to cutting-edge research and knowledge creation. With excellent faculty in Economics, Literature, Linguistics, Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology and Policy Studies, and inspired by its vision and values, this department plans to offer a wide range of courses to the students of technology, run a vibrant PhD program, and contribute to expanding the frontiers of knowledge in Humanities and Social Sciences.
